Barbara Irion Morgan, Gallipolis, Ohio passed away peacefully in her sleep Friday, April 21, 2017 at Brookdale Cooper Road, Westerville, Ohio. She was born in Gallipolis, Ohio October 11, 1926 and graduated from Gallia Academy High School. She was married to D. Kenneth Morgan September 5, 1948 and enjoyed a wonderful marriage of over 63 years and he preceded her in death February 8, 2012. She was active in the community as a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Keep Gallia Beautiful and the Gallia County Board of Elections. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Known for her baking throughout the land, Barbara spent most of her professional career working for the family business, McKnight & Davies Hardware.
She is survived by three children: John and Connie Morgan, Westerville, Ohio; Tom and Gayla Morgan, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Jane Morgan and Chuck Russell, Lewisville, Texas; grandchildren: David Morgan, Marietta, Georgia; Christen Biddlestone, Westerville, Ohio; Ben Morgan, Woodstock, Illinois; Jack Morgan, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Elizabeth Morgan, Dallas Texas; Gabrielle and Cooper Jones, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her mother, Faye L. Murphy and her sister, Helen Miller.
The family wishes to express their thanks and appreciation to the visitation ministry of Church of the Master Methodist Church, Westerville, Ohio and the caregivers of Brookdale Hospice as well as the staff of Brookdale Cooper Road.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Saturday, May 13, 2017 at the Grace United Methodist Church, 2nd Ave, Gallipolis with Pastor Bill Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Mound Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, 420 First Ave, Gallipolis, Ohio Friday, May 12, 2017 at 6:00-8:00 PM and one hour prior to services at the church Saturday.
