Bernice Mae (Welch) Justice

Bernice Mae Justice died Saturday, November 21, 2015, at 11:00 AM, the age of 95.  Born July 3rd, 1920 to Doliver and Clara Drummond Welch at Robinson Creek, Boone County, West Virginia, she was mid-wifed by her Great-Grandmother, Granny Jane Albright of Boone County, West Virginia.  She was married to the late Harvey Ray Patterson in 1936, having eight children.  She was a hard worker, loving mother and very kind woman.  She married the late Virgil Justice in 1967.  They worked in the cattle business for twenty-two years, until the demise of Mr. Justice in 1989.  She made her home with her then oldest son, John Lee, for 26 years until her illness in December, 2014 when she went to live with her daughter until her Departure of this Life.  She attended the Rose of Sharon Holiness Church, Rutland, Ohio. 

Bernice is survived by three daughters:  Mary (Charles) Deboard, Columbus, Ohio; Linda (Darrell) Nelson, Bidwell, Ohio and Brinda (David) Lantz, Clayton, Washington; three sons:  John Lee Patterson, Vinton, Ohio; Harvey Ray (Jean) Patterson, Marengo, Ohio and Larry (Kathy) Patterson, Worthington, Ohio; thirteen grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren; a sister, Ammie Hysell, Wilkesville, Ohio and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, three sisters, two sons:  Jimmie Paul Patterson and Charlie Earl Patterson; three granddaughters and one great-grandson.

Funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton Chapel, with Pastors Dewey and Pat King officiating.  Burial will follow at Vinton Memorial Park.  Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 5:00- 8:00 PM.
