Dennis Norman, 50, Vinton, Ohio passed away Saturday, November 11, 2017 at his residence in the arms of his wife. He was born May 1, 1967 in Pikeville, Kentucky, the son of Eloise (Charles) Burris of Vinton, Ohio. Dennis was a dairy farmer and a member of the Organic Valley Coop and a 1985 graduate of North Gallia High School. Dennis and Melinda began their dairy in 2000. He grew up with a love of farming. He had many friends from his years of farming and work for John and Loralee Carmichael on their dairy and their John Deere business, prior to establishing his own farm. He loved sharing farming stories and felt blessed that he had been given the opportunity to be able to care for the animals in his herd.
Dennis is survived by his wife of 27 years, Melinda Ramey Norman, whom he married July 21, 1990 in Rio Grande, Ohio among family and friends. Dennis and Melinda have a special covenant with each other. They truly believe in the importance of marriage and share an unconditional love. Also surviving are his mother, Eloise (Charles) Burris; brother, Donald (Rachel) Norman,; mother-in-law, Velma Ramey; sisters-in-law: Becky Bennett and Laura (Darrell) Baker; brother-in-law, David (Peggy) Ramey; nieces and nephews: Amy (Rick) Weaver, Beth (James) Myers, Matthew (Morgan) Roberts, Kody Roberts, Joshua (Jenifer) Ramey, Brady Norman, Haley Norman, Hannah Norman, DJ Norman and great nieces and nephews: Ashleigh Miller, Maria, Molly, Macey Roberts, Anderson and Adalynn Myers, Gavin Norman, Bentley and Weston Norman.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Langley Weddington, Jr.; grandparents, Elmo and Pluma Norman and uncles, Keith and Kenneth Weddington.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Friday, November 17, 2017 at the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton Chapel, with Pastor Heath Jenkins, officiating. Burial will follow in the Norman Family Cemetery, Vinton, Ohio. Friends may call the funeral home Thursday 5:00-8:00 PM.
