Dolores B. (Tomlinson) Wilcox

Dolores B. Wilcox, 89, Porter (Gallia County), Ohio passed away Thursday, March 23, 2017. She was born December 2, 1927 to the late John and Elma (Sahie) Tomlinson on a Pickaway County farm near Circleville, Ohio. She moved to Columbus in 1946 and married U. S. Navy enlistee Paul Wilcox to which she was married 53 years when he preceded her in death. She attended Bliss College and worked at Jeffrey Manufacturing Company, Columbus, Ohio.

Dolores was active in many organizations in Columbus including: 39th Words Committee Member, 40 year poll worker, North Columbus, representing women and a volunteer for Life Care Alliance; President of the Classic Thunderbird Club of Columbus; a member of New Life Lutheran Church, Gallipolis, Ohio and she loved NASCAR races, Harley Davidson motorcycles and OSU Football.

She is survived by sons Paul (Sharon) Wilcox, Columbus, Ohio and Mike (Vicky) Wilcox, Bidwell, Ohio; four granddaughters and one great-grandson; many nieces, nephews and loving friends at Life Care Alliance.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Rose Ann Rogerson.

As per her wishes, there will be no visitation services. Cremation services are under the direction of the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel. Graveside services will be conducted at the convenience of the family in the Mulhenburg Township Cemetery in Pickaway County, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, a gift may be given in Dolores’ name to the New Life Lutheran Church 900 Jackson Pike, Gallipolis, Ohio 45631.
