George William Miller, 88, Bidwell, Ohio and formerly of Rio Grande, Ohio passed away Thursday, March 31, 2016 at Holzer Medical Center, Gallipolis, Ohio.  He was born December 23, 1927, the son of the late John Dale and Zella Lucina George Miller. George graduated from Rio Grande High School in 1946, and was drafted into the United State Army in 1952.  He served twenty years in the Signal Corps, fourteen years of that time was spent in the White House Signal Agency. He helped provide communications for three Presidents:  Eisenhower, Kennedy and Johnson. He retired as Master Sergeant in 1972. George was a life-long member of Simpson Chapel United Methodist Church in Rio Grande, Ohio and was a trustee for many years.

George married Arlene Keesee April 2, 1983, and she survives along with three step-children:  Phillip (Beth) Hollanbaugh, Jeffrey (Kathy) Hollanbaugh and Willa (Larry) Camden; eight step-grandchildren and nineteen step-great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.  Also surviving are four sisters:  Dorthea Thomas, Gallipolis, Ohio; Louise OBriant, Sycamore, Ohio; Mary Lou Tenney, Brooktondale, New York and Carol Huff, Crawford, Colorado.

In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by a brother, John Robert Miller.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Monday, April 4, 2016 at the Simpson Chapel United Methodist Church, Rio Grande, Ohio with Reverend Dan Lamphier officiating.  Burial will follow in Vinton Memorial Park with Military Graveside services by Gallia County Veterans Service Organizations.  Friends may call at the church beginning at 12:00 PM.
