Gladys Pauline (Garnes) Taylor

Gladys Pauline Taylor, 92, Bidwell, Ohio passed away in Holzer Senior Care, Bidwell, Ohio Friday, January 6, 2017.  She was born June 12, 1924 in Columbus, Ohio, daughter of the late Thomas Guy Garnes and Goldie (Anderson) Garnes.   She earned a Bachelor of Science Degree, Elementary Education, University of Rio Grande and a Master of Education Degree, Supervision, Ohio University, Athens, Ohio.  She retired from the Jackson County Schools where she had taught for more than twenty years.  She was a Christian who attended Baptist Churches in Jackson and Gallia Counties.

Mrs. Taylor is survived by her children:  Ellison (Karen Sue) Ragland, Bidwell, Ohio; Donald E. (Linda Kay) Ragland, Columbus, Ohio and Portia Ragland, New Lexington, Ohio; three grandchildren: Donald Ragland Jr., Michelle Toner and Anita Ragland and several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husbands: Ellison Ragland Sr., V. Preston and Rubin Taylor and two brothers, Lawrence and Delbert.

Funeral services will be conducted 12:00 PM Tuesday, January 10, 2017 in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, Gallipolis, Ohio with Rev. Calvin Minnis officiating. Burial will follow in Corinth Cemetery, Centerpoint, Ohio.  Friends may call at the funeral home Monday 4:00-6:00 PM.
