Harlan Brooks “Chick” Conley, 76, Gallipolis, Ohio passed away at his residence Saturday, July 23, 2016.  He retired from the Goodyear-Shell Chemical Corp. of Apple Grove, West Virginia following thirty-six years of service.  He was most proud of his loving family.  He also enjoyed socializing with many friends and playing golf.

He was a United States Marine Veteran whose memberships included:  Morning Dawn F&AM Lodge #7 and The Rose Commandary #43 Knights Templar of Gallipolis; Gallipolis Elks #107, Point Pleasant American Legion Post 23 and a former member of Cliffside Golf Course.  He attended the First Church of the Nazarene of Gallipolis and also the Cornerstone Church of Bidwell, Ohio.

Chick was born October 19, 1939 at Gallipolis, Ohio, son of the late Howard and Maxine Mink Conley. He is survived by his daughters: Susan Brooke Conley of Columbus, Ohio and Lynn Brooke (Tim) Blakeley of Versailles, Ohio.  Also surviving are grandchildren: Brooks and Tessa Blakeley of Versailles, Ohio; two brothers and two sisters: William “Bill” (Vivian) Conley, Paul Conley, Jean Davison and Jacqueln Hughes, all of Gallipolis, Ohio.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Marjorie Shimp.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Thursday, July 28, 2016 at the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, Gallipolis, Ohio with Rev. Gene Harmon officiating.  Burial will follow in the Ohio Valley Memory Gardens where Full Military Rites will be conducted by the Gallia County Veterans Services. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday 5:00– 8:00 PM.
