Kevin E. Gillman, 43, Vinton, Ohio passed away August 13, 2016 at Cabell Huntington Hospital, West Virginia.  He was born December 22, 1972 in Gallipolis, Ohio, son of Clinton E. Gillman and Vickie Lynn Simpson Marcum, both of Vinton.  Kevin was a graduate of Southwestern High School and a former member of the Army National Guard (ROTC).  He loved sports, especially football, playing on many teams throughout his childhood.  He played for North Gallia High School until transferring to Southwestern High School and was a faithful fan of the Michigan Wolverines from childhood.

In addition to his parents, Kevin is survived by his step-father David Marcum; fiancée, Gena Griggs, Eureka, Ohio and her son, Dakota, of whom he was very fond.  Also surviving are step-brothers: Jason (Ruth) Marcum, Langsville, Ohio and Todd (fiancée Stephanie Jones) Marcum, Middleport, Ohio; step-sister, Jessica (Michael) Oiler, Langsville, Ohio; paternal grandmother, Hulda Hendricks, Gallipolis, Ohio; special aunts and uncles and extended family who he loved dearly and many cousins who he grew up with throughout his life who were like brothers and sisters.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Estel Gillman and maternal grandparents, Howard and Bessie Simpson. 

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, August 18, 2016 at His Way Community Church, Vinton, Ohio with Pastor John O’Brien officiating.  Burial will follow in Poplar Ridge Cemetery, Bidwell, Ohio.  Friends may call at the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton Chapel, Wednesday from 5:00-8:00 PM. Immediate family may visit at 4:00 PM.
