Tom C. Arrington, 93, Gallipolis, Ohio passed away Sunday, October 9, 2016 in Point Pleasant Nursing and Rehab Center, Point Pleasant, West Virginia. He was born May 17, 1923 in Goodwill, West Virginia to the late William Henry and Viola (Taylor) Arrington. He married Dorothy Taylor September 29, 1958 and she preceded him in death January 26, 2000. Tom was a U.S. Navy World War II Veteran, serving as a Navy Seaman 1st Class and later as an Air Force Staff Sergeant serving in the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War, from which he retired as an air craft mechanic in 1971 after 21 years of service. He worked at Stauffer Chemical Company, formerly as a school bus driver for Gallipolis City Schools and later retired from the Ohio Valley Banking Company in 1986 after 9 years of employment as a janitor. He was a private pilot and enjoyed flying for 54 years. He held memberships in the Air Force Sergeants Association and Gallipolis VFW #4464 and attended Poplar Ridge Baptist Church.

Tom is survived by his daughter, Juanita (Carl) Curnutte, Gallipolis, Ohio; grandchildren, Thom Curnutte, Columbus, Ohio and Jessica (Sean) Ferguson, Valdosta, Georgia; two great-grandchildren, Parker and Grayson Ferguson; two step-sons:  Steven Hawley, Virginia and Robert (Carole) Hawley, Crawfordsville, Indiana; one step-grandson, Allen (Deva) Curnutte, Dallas, Texas and one step-great-grandson, Oscar Curnutte.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Ellen Arrington; step-son, Roger Hawley and two brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services will be conducted 12:00 Noon Thursday, October 13, 2016 in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, 420 First Ave, Gallipolis. Full Military Graveside Rites will be conducted by the Gallia County Veterans Service with burial to follow in Gravel Hill Cemetery, Cheshire, Ohio. Friends and family may call at the funeral home Wednesday 5:00-7:00 PM.
