Bobby Ratliff took his final swing at life on March 19, after a wonderful day full of golfing, laughing, drinking, strolling on the beach and playing poker with his buddies while on their annual Spring golf trip to Myrtle Beach. What a way to go!
Bobby is survived by the luckiest girls in Gallia County, wife Penny Skidmore Ratliff, daughters Kelly & Katie Ratliff (Matty Whitted) and the world’s best Poppy to his precious granddaughter Olivia Ratliff. Three, slightly less handsome and funny brothers, Bill (Linda) Ratliff, Kenny (Kelly) Ratliff & Bimbo (Debbie) Ratliff and numerous extended family members who couldn’t help but adore him and more golf buddies than he’d ever admit to having, and TRULY TRULY loved. Bobby's legacy is a joyful one, marked by his playful sense of humor, a lifetime filled with laughter, and a heart so full of love and kindness that he effortlessly shared it with everyone around him, without even knowing. He’s preceded in death by his parents Eulavene & Jack Ratliff, Sister In-Law Judy French Ratliff, Mother and Father In-Law Mary Alice & Warren Skidmore, Brothers In-law Ronnie & Larry Skidmore, and leading this star-studded welcome party to the great beyond, Sister In-Law Becky Skidmore Riepenhoff. Now that’ll be an after party!
Bob “The Pool Man” Ratliff’s fun-loving nature may have only been rivaled by his instinct for top notch hard work. Bobby installed over 2,000 swimming pools over the course of nearly 50 years in the backyards of so many friends & families in our local communities. Imagine the memories made in all those lives simply because HE DUG FUN! The tidal wave of heartwarming messages, calls, and visits from folks near and far emphasize how much he was cherished by so many, truly the epitome of a life well-lived!
ALL are welcome to join us at Cliffside Golf Course, 100 Cliffside Drive, Gallipolis, on Friday, March 29, 2024 for calling hours, from 3-5pm, with services at 5:30pm, followed by A CELEBRATION at 6pm.
Ok Bobby… Penny supposes you can retire now… and wherever you are, may the fairways be endless, the beer be cold, and the laughter never die. See you in the Funny Papers.
