Carrie Sue Slone

Carrie Sue Slone, 64, Madisonville, Tennessee (formerly of Vinton, Ohio) passed away Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at her home. Born September 17, 1953 in Pikeville, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Luther and Fay Slone. Carrie retired from the form Pillsbury Plant in Wellston, Ohio after 26 years of service at which time she became a homemaker.

She is survived by her children: Luther “Dewey” (Dawna) Hunt, Gallipolis, Ohio and Fayetta (Bryan) Brumfield, Madisonville, Tennessee; nine grandchildren: Joshua Hunt, Luther Dewey “DJ” Hunt and Justin Hunt, all of Gallipolis, Ohio; Christian (Ariel) Elliott and Amanda Elliott, all of Vinton, Ohio; Daphney Norman, Chattanooga, Tennessee; Alex Brumfield, Jackson, Mississippi; Brycen Brumfield and Joel Brumfield, both of Vinton, Ohio and seven great-grandchildren. Also surviving are four sisters: Kathleen Hunt, Ewington, Ohio; Frances (Danny) Harless, Jacobsburg, Ohio; Lois Ratliff Fuller, Fedscreek, Kentucky and Libby Slone, Pikeville, Kentucky.

In addition to her parents, Carrie was preceded in death by her sister, Marie Slone.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 PM Saturday, August 18, 2018 in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, Gallipolis, Ohio with Brother Chester Ward officiating. Burial will follow in the Ward Family Cemetery, Ewington, Ohio. Friends and family may call at the funeral home Saturday 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
