Earnestine Pierce, 85, Dayton, Ohio passed away Sunday, April 8, 2018 in the Maria Joseph Center, Dayton, Ohio. She was born March 4, 1933 in Mason County, West Virginia, daughter of the late Carney and Louise Hoffman. She worked as an accountant in Dayton, Ohio until retirement. She married Pat Pierce in 1955. An avid seamstress, she loved to make clothes for her family. She would make suits for her husband and sons for Easter each year. She also enjoyed crocheting and gardening.
Earnestine leaves behind to cherish her memory her son, Victor Pierce and her grandchildren that she raised and loved dearly, James Pierce, Rebecca Pierce and Chelsea (Shawn) Vogt; two great-grandchildren: Stella and Issac Vogt; sister, Allena (Herman) Sprague and nieces and nephew: Stephanie, Heather, Debbie, Sherry and Matthew.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Patrick Pierce; brother, James Eugene Hoffman and a sister, Ellestine Smith.
A Memorial service will be conducted Thursday, April 12, 2018 at 12:00 Noon in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, Gallipolis, Ohio. In accordance with her wishes, cremation services are under the direction of the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Gallipolis, Ohio. A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held Thursday 11:00 AM until the time of the service.
