Garnet E. Hatten, 94, Bidwell, Ohio passed away Saturday, November 18, 2017 in Holzer Senior Care Center, Bidwell, Ohio. She was the daughter of the late Peter Jethro and Sarah Agnes (Sharp) Hutchinson, born June 9, 1923 at Kenova, West Virginia. Garnet was a member of OES Chapter 204, Vermilion, Ohio and Good News Baptist Church, Gallipolis, Ohio. She married William Henry Hatten May 20, 1942 at Russell, Kentucky and he preceded her in death January 5, 2012.
Garnet leaves behind to cherish her memory sons, William “Buzz” (Audry) Hatten, Bidwell, Ohio; Robert “Red” (Gayle) Hatten, Wellington, Ohio and a daughter, Joyce Allen, Bidwell, Ohio; grandchildren: Brian (Ryoko) Allen, Sean (Diane) Allen, Hope (Kevin) Young, Bobby (Jodi) Hatten, Heather Hatten and B.J. Hatten; great-grandchildren: Kayla Allen, Dallas, Allen, Madeline Young, Charlie Snezek, Henley Hatten and Sammy Hatten; three step-grandchildren: Dillon, Seth and Brandon Miller and one great-great-grandchild, Avery Cook as well as a sister-in-law, Betty Hutchinson, Lima, Ohio.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, five sisters and a grandchild.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 PM Saturday, November 25, 2017 in the Good News Baptist Church, 4045 Georges Creek Road, Gallipolis, Ohio with Rev. Eric Fannin and Rev. Joe Godwin, officiates. Entombment will follow in the Ohio Valley Memory Gardens, Gallipolis, Ohio. Friends and family may call at the church Saturday 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, is honored to serve the Hatten Family.
