Harold Lloyd Porter

Harold L. Porter Sr, 76, Gallipolis, Ohio passed away Wednesday, December 27, 2017 in Holzer Medical Center, Gallipolis. He retired from the Heiners Bakery Company following twenty-three years service. He was a member of the Centerville F&AM Lodge 371, Scottish Rite, Alladin Temple, Columbus, Ohio and the Kanauga Sportsman Club.

Harold was born August 19, 1941 in Bladen, Ohio to the late Russell Lloyd Porter and Mabel Ellen Shaw Porter. He married Georgia Barton June 26, 1982 and she survives with the children of their blended family: Harold L. “Butch” Porter Jr.,  Point Pleasant, West Virginia; Debra (Robert) Henry, Point Pleasant, West Virginia; Terry A. (Julie) Porter,  Bidwell, Ohio; Steven W. (Bridget) Porter of Point Pleasant, West Virginia; Valerie J. (Jan) Porter, Gallipolis, Ohio; David (Judy) Darst, Galllipolis, Ohio; Debbie (Randy) McKinney, Gallipolis, Ohio; Danny (Sharon) Darst, Rutland, Ohio and Jerry (Teresa) Darst, Gallipolis, Ohio. Also surviving are several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a sister, Donna (Ken) Rothgeb, North Augusta, South Carolina as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members and two special fur babies, Lillie and Benji.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Eleanor Severt and Carolyn Elkins and a brother, Gary Porter.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Friday, December 29, 2017 at the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, Gallipolis, Ohio with Pastor Pat Henson officiating. Burial will follow in Reynolds Cemetery, Addison, Ohio. Masonic services will be conducted Friday at 12:45 PM prior to the Funeral.  Visitation will be Friday 11:00 AM to the service time.
