Michael Lee George

Michael Lee George, 61, Vinton, Ohio passed away Wednesday, November 7, 2018 as the result of an extended illness. Michael was lovingly referred to as “Mike” by his family and friends. He was born in Columbus, Ohio March 5, 1957 and was the son of Mary Petrie George, Vinton, Ohio and the late Victor “Whitey” George.

Mike’s mother, his sister Michele and his children Brandon (Cassie), Derrick, and Kylie are left to cherish the many memories that will forever be engraved in their hearts. Mike also leaves behind Maddox, Karsyn, and Kynlee George - three of his favorite people, also known as his grandchildren. Extended family and immeasurable friends are also left behind to embrace his memory.

Mike was a graduate of North Gallia High School and obtained an Associate Degree from Hocking College in Culinary Arts. He was as passionate about cooking as he was about riding his prized possession Harley Davidson.  Mike worked at the Gallipolis Developmental Center where he provided direct care to individuals that enriched his life. 

Mike’s life would seem too short to many, yet, those that were touched by him understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. Mike will be remembered by his signature ear to ear smile that brought joy to those around him.

A Service of Remembrance will be conducted Wednesday, November 14, 2018 from 4:00 PM-6:00 PM followed by a message provided by Reverend Calvin Minnis in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton Chapel at 6:00 PM.
