Thomas E. Skinner, age 75, of Eno passed away Saturday, July 21, 2018 at Overbrook Rehabilitation Center, Middleport, Ohio. Tom was born in Gallipolis, Ohio March 15, 1943 to the late Elmer Skinner and Marguerite and Thomas “Tuck” Butterfield. He was a 1961 graduate of Gallia Academy High School. He was employee at Dan Thomas Shoes, G.C. Murphy Company, Gallipolis Daily Tribune and he retired in 2005 from Pillsbury, Wellston, Ohio.
Tom was a Captain with the West Virginia National Guard for seventeen years and a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Porter, Ohio where he enjoyed singing in the choir. He also enjoyed the Ohio State Buckeyes and coffee at the Korner with friends Johnny McGuire and his brother Paul.
Above all, Tom was a family man. He loved his wife, Debbie (Bennett) Skinner, whom he married May 21, 1978. He will be missed by his wife, Debbie and daughters: Celestine (Scott) Morgan, Rio Grande, Ohio; Tommie (Rich) Harless, Jackson, Ohio and Jennifer (Nathan) Connolly, Jackson, Ohio along with grandchildren: Derek (Lindsey) Smith, Mackenzie (Jeff) Morter, Olivia (Nick Clagg) Glassburn, Nathan Grant, Quinton Vance, MaKenna and Jeyce Connolly and great-grandchildren, Preslie, Weston, and Emmylou Smith; Cora Morter and Harper Clagg. Also surviving are a special brother Paul Skinner, Gallipolis, Ohio; sister Celestine Skinner, Ashland, Ohio; sisters-in-law: Betty Eberhard, Vinton, Ohio; Marilyn Sue (Ed) Taff, Mishawaka, Indiana and Annabelle Tomlinson, Gahana, Ohio; brothers-in-law: Larry (Connie) Bennett, Grove City, Ohio; Harry (Martha) Bennett and Earl (Judy) Bennett, both of Vinton, Ohio and several nieces and nephews.
Tom was preceded in death by sisters Dorothy Stiverson and Mary Clark, sister-in-law Becky Skinner, brothers-in-law Don Eberhard, Arlen Owens and a very special mother-in-law, Eulalah Bennett.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at the Trinity United Methodist Church, State Route 160, Porter, Ohio with Rev. Dan Lamphier officiating. Burial will follow in Vinton Memorial Park. Graveside Military Rites will be conducted by the Vinton American Legion Post 161.
