William Clyde Smith

William Clyde Smith, 75, Columbus, Ohio and a former resident of Bidwell, Ohio passed away Thursday, August 23, 2018 in Mt. Carmel West Hospital, Columbus, Ohio. A retired self-employed painter and a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam Conflict, Clyde was born July 7, 1943 in Bidwell, Ohio to the late Oscar and Katherine Hill Smith. 

Clyde is survived by a brother, Herbert (Gwendolyn) Smith, Canal Winchester, Ohio and sisters, Erma Hogan, Gallipolis, Ohio and Marian Briggs, Bidwell, Ohio.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers Donald, Paul and Harold Smith and sisters Margaret Figgins, Catherine Smith-Chaney and Carol Borden.

Funeral services will be held 12:00 PM Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, Gallipolis, Ohio with Pastor Herbert Smith officiating.  Burial will follow in Pine Street Cemetery, Gallipolis with Military Graveside Rites by the Gallia County Veterans Service Organizations. Family and friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday 11:00 AM until the funeral hour of 12:00 PM.
