She was born in Jamestown, New York, graduated from Jamestown High School, Jamestown, New York and University of Michigan. She is remembered most for being a loving and devoted mother, who was active in public service-she tutored at Washington Elementary School, served as a Gallipolis tour guide and helped found the Washington School library and plan the Cliffside Golf Course.

She is president of the South Central Ohio Preservation Society, Chillicothe, Ohio, a member of the Alpha Phi sorority (U of M), and a former Girl Scout leader. For over 50 years she was a member of Thursday Club, French City Investment Club, AAUW and various bridge clubs of Gallipolis. She was also a long standing member of the First Presbyterian Church, Gallipolis, where she served as Deacon and Elder. She was an active supporter of the Ariel Theatre, Bossard Memorial Library and French Art Colony, Gallipolis.

She will be greatly missed by her children: Michael (Lisa), Upper Arlington, Ohio; Terry, Hastings-on-Hudson, New York; Christopher "Topper", Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina; Wendy (Mark) Schuler, Blue Ash, Ohio and Randy (Jacqueline) Orr, Loudonville, New York; grandchildren: Erin Maynard (Monroe), Columbus, Ohio; Elizabeth Huls and Emily Orr, Upper Arlington, Ohio; Stephanie and Sean Orr, Loudonville, New York; Zachary, Sam, Elias and Emmett Wechsler, Hastings-on-Hudson, New York and great grandsons, Jordan Inks and Coalton Maynard, Columbus, Ohio. She will also be missed by her brother-in-law, William H. Orr, Carmel, Indiana and sister-in-law, Margaret Orr McKenzie, Blowing Rock, North Carolina and their spouses, her nieces and nephews, cousins, and many close and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and former husband.
She enjoyed golfing, gardening, knitting, sewing, round dancing and square dancing, and traveling, especially to Vermont, as well as attending Camp Michigania, Boyne City, Michigan, where she went every summer for 40 years. She loved Christmas, baking and cooking for her large extended family. She has been an ardent University of Michigan fan (Go Blue!), and enthusiastically led card and board games with her family.
The family wishes to thank the friends, caregivers, and neighbors who offered comfort and prayers, and Holzer Medical Center and Holzer Hospice for their loving care. Many, many people will miss her vitality, warmth and generous spirit.

The family will receive friends 2:00-5:00 PM Saturday, April 27, 2013 in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, Gallipolis, Ohio. A Memorial Service will be held 1:30 PM Sunday, June 30, 2013 in the First Presbyterian Church, Gallipolis, Ohio with Reverend Tim Luoma officiating.
