Alma E. Lawhorn

Alma E. Lawhorn, 76, Bidwell, Ohio went to be with her Lord Thursday, September 16, 2004 in Holzer Medical Center. She was born July 21, 1928 in Buena Vista, Virginia and married Richard H. Lawhorn on September 22, 1945 at Buena Vista. He preceded her in death February 9, 1996.

Surviving are five daughters and one son: Peggy Neal, Mamaroneck, New York; Carolyn Dusty, Rocky Point, North Carolina; Barbara (Douglas) Johnson, Gallipolis, Ohio; Marilyn (Mike) Neal, Wilmington, North Carolina; Deborah Chevalier, Gallipolis, Ohio; Ted Lawhorn, (Florentina Russell) and son, Nicholas, Gallipolis, Ohio; seven grandchildren: Chris (Joann) Neal, Harrison, New York; Tammy (Stuart) Levine, Oceanside, New York; Jackie Dusty, Rocky Point, North Carolina; Ben Dusty, Rocky Point, North Carolina; Jennifer (Steve) Coughenour, Wilmington, North Carolina; Andrea Neal, Wilmington, North Carolina and Ashley Hopkins, Columbus, Ohio; two great-grandchildren, Sarah Levine and Carson Neal; brother, Alfred Roberts, Buena Vista, Virginia and sister, Doris Slagle, New Jersey; special caregiver, Beverly Watterson and special friend, Jacqueline Jones.

Mrs. Lawhorn was preceded in death by her parents, son-in-law, Thomas Neal; sister, Catherine Rogers and special friend, Rita Payne.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Monday September 20, 2004 at McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton Chapel with Rev. Ronnie Lemley officiating. Burial will follow in Vinton Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday, 6:00-8:00 PM.
