Alvalee Cook, 100, Gallipolis, Ohio passed away in Arbors of Gallipolis Sunday January 1, 2005. She was a retired postal clerk retiring from the Amherstdale Post Office, Amherstdale, West Virginia; member of Grace United Methodist Church of Gallipolis and the St, Albans Order of the Eastern Star #79, St. Albans, West Virginia. Mrs. Cook was born April 19, 1904 in Ona, West Virginia, daughter of the late Henry M. And Gertrude Morrison McDonie. She was preceded in death by her husband, Torrence Cook in 1964.

She is survived by one daughter, Margaret Johnson, Gallipolis, Ohio; four grandchildren, Todd (Sheri) Johnson, Gallipolis; Jane (John) Miller, Tokyo, Japan; Ann Johnson, Columbus, Ohio and Lee (Randy) Campbell, Beckley, West Virginia; six great-grandchildren also survive.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by son, Phillip T. Cook.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Wednesday at the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel 420 First Avenue, Gallipolis with the Rev. Robert Ingram officiating. Burial will follow in the Milton Cemetery, Milton West Virginia. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 5:00-8:00 PM.
