Anna Jewell Fortner, 23, Oak Hill, passed away Friday, February 17, 2006 at Holzer Medical Center, Gallipolis. Born December 11, 1982 in Gallipolis, Ohio, she was the daughter of Michael and Brenda Kent Fortner. A 2004 graduate of Buckeye Hills Career Center and South Gallia High School, Anna was a member of the Centerville Young Farmers 4-H Group. She attended Little Flock Old Regular Baptist Church in Ray, Ohio.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by three brothers: Okie (Beth) Fortner, Thurman, Ohio; Stephen and Teddy Fortner, Oak Hill, Ohio; maternal grandmother, Rubel Kent, Thurman, Ohio; special aunt, Myra Shepherd; cousin, Jessica Arrowood; several aunts, uncles and cousins; two nephews, one niece and many, many friends.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Okie Kent; paternal grandparents, Jesse and Hazel Fortner and three uncles: Robert Kent, Terrence and Jack Fortner.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, February 20, 2006 at the Little Flock Old Regular Baptist Church at Ray, Ohio with Brothers Sam Franks, Chester Cochran and Hank Forgey officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Tabor Cemetery, Vinton. Friends may call at McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, 420 First Ave, Gallipolis Saturday, February 18 from 6:00-8:00 PM and at the church on Sunday from 5:00 PM until the service hour Monday.
