Biography
Barbara J. Stroud, 75, Gallipolis, Ohio passed away Sunday, March 30, 2014 in St. Ann's Hospital, Columbus, Ohio. Born October 15, 1938 in Talladega, Alabama, she was the daughter of the late Robert Charles Stroud and Vada (Swain) Cyler. Barbara was a member of the Providence Baptist Church, Bidwell, Ohio and the United Steelworkers of America.
She is survived by two sons: David (Marica) Stroud, Bidwell and Roger Stroud, Gallipolis, Ohio and daughter, Vickie O'Day, Columbus, Ohio; five grandchildren: Jeremy Stroud and T. J. Stroud, both of Gallipolis and Brandy Hutchinson, Danielle Gordon and Tanisha O'Day, all of Columbus; fourteen great-grandchildren; three sisters: Promolia (Gerald) Smith, Bidwell; Magdeline Smith, Chester, Pennsylvania and Peggy Odum, Kansas City, Missouri and brother, Lonnie Stroud, Columbus, Ohio.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Ralph Stroud; grandson, Nyl Rashaun O'Day and special friend, Willard D. Smith.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Saturday, April 5, 2014 in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, Gallipolis with burial to follow in Buck Ridge Cemetery, Bidwell, Ohio. Friends and family may call at the funeral home Friday 6:00-8:00 PM.
