Barbara Ellen (Welch) Russell

Barbara Ellen Russell, 84, Bidwell, Ohio passed away Monday, April 16, 2018 in Holzer Senior Care Center, Bidwell. The daughter of the late Earnest and Esta (Drummond) Welch, she was born January 10, 1934 at Scarey, West Virginia. Barbara married Wayne Russell, who preceded her in death June 1994. She retired from Gallia County Local Schools, where she served as a cafeteria cook, in 1994 and her memberships included Good News Baptist Church, Gallia County Farm Bureau and an auxiliary member of Gallia County Soil Conservation.

Barbara leaves behind to cherish her memory her children: David Russell and Lisa Reuter, both of Gallipolis, Ohio; grandchildren: Jeffrey M. Reuter, Bidwell, Ohio; Sarah (Kyle) Deel, Vinton, Ohio; Kelsey W. Reuter, Gallipolis, Ohio; Andrea (Jason) Jarvis, Lancaster, Ohio and Courtney (Britt) Wiseman, Gallipolis, Ohio; great-grandchildren: Logan, Lane and Lucy Deel; Noah and Cayden Reuter; Holden and Hudson Jarvis and Belle Coralee Wiseman as well as a host of friends and extended family members.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Mark Edward Russell in 1979; daughter-in-law, Tina Russell and son-in-law, Scott Reuter; five brothers and four sisters.

Funeral services will be conducted 12:00 Noon Thursday, April 19, 2018 in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, Gallipolis, Ohio with Rev. Eric Fannin officiating. Burial will follow in Centenary Cemetery, Gallipolis, Ohio. Friends and family may call at the funeral home Wednesday 5:00-7:00 PM and Thursday one hour prior to services.
