Basil Kenneth Higley

Basil Kenneth Higley, 90, Bidwell, Ohio passed away in his home Saturday, August 15, 2009. He was born September 27, 1918 in Charleston, West Virginia, son of the late Charles J. Higley and Loma B. Reedy Higley. He operated a farm near Bidwell until his retirement in 1976 and he was also a member of the Springfield Baptist Church.
Basil married Elsie Stalnaker October 9, 1938 in Ripley, West Virginia and she survives with three children: Kenneth W. Higley, Gallipolis, Ohio; Joyce L. Robie and L. Kay Higley, Bidwell, Ohio. Also surviving are six grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were son, F. Raymond Higley; grandson, Ronald K. Robie; great-grandson, William M. Brabham; and brothers: Carl, Clarence and Lawrence Higley.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, August 19, 2009 in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton. Burial will follow in the Vinton Memorial Park.
