Ben Garland Clay, 81, Albany, Ohio passed away in Kimes Nursing Home, Athens, Saturday, May 13, 2006. A WW II Army Veteran, he was a construction worker and a member of the Laborers Union. Mr. Clay was born August 26, 1924 in Lockwood, Kentucky, son of the late Thomas Garland Clay and Bertha Wooten Clay.
Surviving are his wife Ernestine Marcum Clay, one son and four daughters, eight grandchildren, a brother and a sister.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday May 16, 2006 in the Little Pearl Old Regular Baptist Church near Vinton with Brothers Sam Franks, Don Lawson and Raymond Stapleton officiating. Burial will follow in the Marcum Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service Tuesday. Friends may call at the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton Monday 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 PM.
