Bernard Lowell Kincaid, 95, Vinton, Ohio (Wilkesville-Minerton Community) passed away November 10, 2012 as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident on State Route 124 near Rutland, Ohio. He was born October 31, 1917, son of the late Seldon and Mary Harrold Kincaid in Roane County, West Virginia. He worked as a lumberman for B & O Railroad and was a US WW II Army Veteran stationed at Ft. McClellan, Alabama.
Bernard married Opal Shifflet June 28, 1928 in Greenup, Kentucky and she preceded him in death January 7, 2009. Also preceding him in death were a son, Ronald Kincaid; brother and sisters: Burl, Alta, Elsie and Edna; sons-in-law, Ervin Smith and Bob Barrett and brother-in-law, Ralph Spires.
He is survived by three sons: Edward Lowell (Shirley) Kincaid, Knotts Island, North Carolina; Paul (Brenda) Kincaid and Michael (Judy) Kincaid, both of Minerton, Ohio; two daughters: Diane Smith, Rutland, Ohio and Sandra Barrett, Danville, Ohio and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are brother, Buria Kincaid, Parkersburg, West Virginia and sister, Grace Spires, Minerton, Ohio as well as daughter-in-law, Monica Kincaid.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday at the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton, Ohio with Pastors Donald Kincaid and Richard Kincaid officiating. Burial will follow in the Curry Cemetery, Minerton, Ohio. Graveside Military Rites will be conducted by the Vinton American Legions Post 161 and the Wilkesville Joseph Freeman American Legion Post. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday 6:00-8:00 PM.
