Bertie J. Lanier

Bertie J. Lanier, 79, a resident of Vinton, passed away in Holzer Senior Care Center on Wednesday, November 19, 2008. She was born September 29, 1929 in Nitro, West Virginia, daughter of the late Huber and Hope Mitchell Lanier. She was a retired caregiver, and a member of the Vinton American Legion Auxiliary Post 161 and Gallia County Senior Citizens.
Bertie is survived by two brothers and one sister, Cleo (Joann) Lanier, Lancaster; Kenneth (Minnie) Lanier, Lakeland, Florida and Charlotte (Harold) Wooldridge, Sun City West, Arizona; sister-in-law, Mary V. Lanier, Vinton and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Leo C. Lanier.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday November 22, 2008 in Vinton Memorial Park with Pastor Marc Sarrett officiating. There will be no visitation.
Arrangements are by the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home in Vinton.
