Bessie M. (Lucas) Mannon
June 2, 1918 — February 8, 2013
Bessie M. Mannon, 94, Gallipolis, Ohio passed away Friday, February 8, 2013 in Holzer Senior Care Center. She was born June 2, 1918 in Hamlin, West Virginia, daughter of the late Gilbert and Nora (Salmons) Lucas. She was formerly an employee of Star Cross Canning Factory and a member of the First Baptist Church, Gallipolis. Bessie married O'Dell Mannon in Catlettsburg, Kentucky in 1936, and he preceded her in death in 1965.
She is survived by three sons: Gary (Barb) Mannon, Fostoria, Ohio; Richard (Sharon) Mannon, Walbridge, Ohio and Michael Mannon, Bradner, Ohio; two daughters: Norma Rossiter, Crown City, Ohio and Patricia Cremeans, Kanauga, Ohio; seventeen grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, Hershal and Herman Lucas, both of Proctorville, Ohio and a daughter-in-law, Shirley Mannon, Perrysburg, Ohio.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Donald Mannon in 1984; a granddaughter, great granddaughter, a sister, Lilli Lucas Mannon and sons-in-law, Merrill Rossiter and Michael Cremeans.
Graveside services will be held 12:00 PM Tuesday, February 12, 2013 in the Rome Cemetery, Proctorville, Ohio with Rev. Alvis Pollard officiating. In keeping with her wishes, there will be no visitation. The McCoy-Moore Funeral Home is honored to serve the Mannon Family.
