Betty Jean (Carpenter) Saunders

Betty Jean Saunders, 88, Bidwell, Ohio passed away in Holzer Medical Center Sunday, January 24, 2016. She was born February 20, 1927 in Gallipolis, Ohio daughter of the late Ernest and Margaret Houck Carpenter. Betty was a retired clerk for the U.S. Postal Service, Bidwell, Ohio Post Office with twenty-five years of service. She was a member of Vinton OES #375, Vinton, Ohio and Grace United Methodist Church, Gallipolis, Ohio.
Betty is survived by her husband, Paul B. Saunders, whom she married November 16, 1947 at Mercerville, Ohio and two daughters: Paula Barrick, Bidwell and Patricia (James) Snyder, Sebring, Florida; grandson, Paul Brett (Tracy) Harrison, Vista, California and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Thursday, January 28, 2016 in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, Gallipolis. Entombment will follow at the Ohio Valley Memory Garden, Gallipolis. Friends and family may call at the funeral home Wednesday 6:00-8:00 PM during which time an Eastern Star service will be conducted at 7:45 PM.
