Billie J. Marcum

Billie J. Marcum, 76, Thurman, Ohio passed away at his residence Christmas Day, December 25, 2012 surrounded by his family. He was retired owner/operator of Marcum Trucking and Sons of Thurman. He was born September 26, 1936 in Logan, West Virginia, son of the late Hollie Marcum and Lola Chapman Marcum.

He married Ruby Webb June 2, 1956 in Richmond, Indiana and she survives with two sons: Kevin (Judy) Marcum, Vinton, Ohio and Darrell (Barbara) Marcum, Thurman; eight grandchildren: Kara (Todd) Ragan and Robin (James) Gruber, both of Bidwell, Ohio; Erin (James) McMillin, Vinton; Cristiana Likens, Gallipolis Ferry, West Virginia; Kevin Williams, Gallipolis; Hana Marcum, Thurman; Brad (Crystal) Marcum, Gallipolis and Jennifer Bias, New Haven, West Virginia.

Also surviving are nineteen great-grandchildren, four brothers and three sisters: Ron Marcum, Darrell Marcum, and Hollie (Marg) Marcum, all of Vinton;
David (Sandy) Marcum and Mary Block, both of Bidwell; Sarah (Don) Israel, Vinton; Donna Affolter, Thurman and sisters-in-law Carolyn Marcum, Jackson, Ohio and Sharon Marcum, Vinton.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two children: Michael Dale Marcum and Patricia Jean Marcum; brothers: Ishmael, Harold and Sherman Marcum and an infant brother, Jimmy Marcum; a sister, Imogene Marcum; and sisters-in-law, Shirley and Emily Marcum.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, December 29, 2012 in the Harvestime Worship Center, Main Street, Vinton with Pastor Ron Massie and Pastor David Marcum officiating. Burial will follow in the Pendleton-Marcum Cemetery near Vinton. Friends may call at the Harvestime Worship Center Friday 4:00-8:00 PM. The McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton, is honored to serve the Marcum Family.
