Billy R. George

Billy R. George, 81, Bidwell, Ohio found a new home in Heaven as he peacefully passed from the arms of his family into the arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Wednesday night, July 30, 2014 following a short battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease). He was a loving husband to his wife, Milly and a loving father to his five children. He proudly served his Country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and attended the White Oak Baptist Church and French City Baptist Church. He retired from Stauffer/Akzo Chemical Company after more than thirty-seven years employment. Billy was a master woodworker and a great fisherman and hunter. He was also blessed to have many friends and wonderful neighbors.

In addition to his wife of fifty-seven years, Mildred Denney George who survives, are five children: Gregory George, Bidwell, Ohio; Nikki (Lewie) Bowman, Gallipolis, Ohio; Vicki (Eric) Mulholand, Vinton, Ohio; Rita (George) Writesel, Columbus, Ohio and Robin (Chris) Wellington, Bidwell, Ohio; grandchildren: Jeremiah and Matthew Johnson; Marea Cooper; Nathan, Richard, Evan and Annie Bowman; Tony George; Justin and Patrick Mulholand; Erica Jividen; Brandon and Brent Writesel; Kate Riley; Nicholas George and Megan Wellington; sixteen great-grandchildren and growing. Also surviving are nieces, Sharon Black, Rutland, Ohio and Janie Crace, Bidwell, Ohio.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Sunday, August 3, 2014 at the McCoy-Moore Funeral, Vinton, Ohio. Burial will follow in the Denney Cemetery, Bidwell, Ohio with Military Graveside Rites to be conducted by the Vinton American Legion Post 161. Friends and family will be received at the Funeral Home Saturday 5:00-8:00 PM.
