Billy Edward Harless

Billy Edward Harless, 71, of Wilkesville, Ohio went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Sunday, February 9, 2025. Born April 10, 1953 at Pomeroy, Ohio, he was the son of the late Earl Arnold and Garnet Mae (Davis) Harless.

He was a 1971 graduate of Meigs High School after which he spent his years as a diesel mechanic for B&L Motor Freight, Newark, Ohio and managing the shop in Huntington, West Virginia for Penske Truck Leasing.

Billy leaves behind his wife, Elizabeth (Simms) Harless, whom he married September 10, 2001; three children from his previous marriage: Heather Harless, Langsville, Ohio; Billy (Sandy) Harless, Jr., Pomeroy and Vanessa (Buel) Farley, Wilkesville, Ohio. Also left to cherish his memory are six grandchildren: Jacob (Brianna) Lambert and Brooklyn Harless, both of Paigeville, Ohio; Justin Allen, Wilkesville; Brad Harless, Pomeroy; Matthew (Olivia) Smith and Joseph Smith, both of Wilkesville and six great-grandchildren: Hadalee Lambert, Reece Davis, Pyper Harless, Hazel Harless, Wylder Harless and Hudson Smith. He is also survived by two sisters: Rosemary Pope, Hebron, Ohio and Loretta McQuaid, Wilkesville along with several nieces, nephews and extended family members.

In addition to his parents, Billy is preceded in death by sister, Melinda Harless; brother-in-law, Bobby Joe Pope; son-in-law, Allen Winn Smith and wife, Anita Harless.

Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 PM Tuesday, February 18, 2025, in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton Chapel, with Pastor Stagerlee Beabout officiate. Burial will follow in Standish Cemetery, Langsville, Ohio. Family and Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday 11:00 AM to the 12:00 PM service time.
