Bonnia Jean (Pendleton) Hamilton
November 19, 1937 — August 20, 2017
Bonnia Jean Hamilton, 79, Vinton, Ohio passed away Sunday, August 20, 2017 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born November 19, 1937 in Radcliff, Ohio to the late Jay and Lucille Erwin Pendleton. Bonnia married Robert "Bob" Hamilton December 23, 1953 at Beaver, Ohio and he survives.
Bonnia was a 1977 Graduate of the University of Rio Grande, a member of Vinton Baptist Church, Ohio Retired Teacher's Association and member of Gallia County Retired Teacher's Association. She retired from Gallipolis City Schools following 27 years of service teaching Kindergarten at Rio Grande Elementary, where she inspired many young minds. Bonnia loved each and every one of her students.
Family was most important to Bonnia and she leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband, Bob and five children: Gwendolyn (Arthur) Daniels, Bidwell, Ohio; Lewis "Randy" (Diane) Hamilton and Bryan (Cindy) Hamilton, both of Vinton, Ohio; Roberta (Paul) Duncan, Gallipolis, Ohio and Jessica (Nick) Stanley, Patriot, Ohio; grandchildren: Robert Daniels, Morgan Daniels, Madison Daniels, Randi (Danny) Gheen, Joseph (Sonya) Hamilton, Brittany (Michael) Bickle, Lewis "Alex" Hamilton, Heather (Sean) Laber, Allie (Josiah) Morris, Lena Bryanne Hamilton, Thomas Hamilton, Tyler (Tiffany) Duncan, Tayler (Evan) Wood, Tori Jo Duncan, Marilynn Stanley and Colby Stanley; great-grandchildren: Kaleb and Kylie Gheen, Mallory and Malachi Hamilton, Makenzie and Bryce Bickle, Evan Laber, Owen and Joslynn Morris and Jackson Duncan; brother, Rick Pendleton, Wilkesville, Ohio; sisters, Evelyn (Bob) Porter, Jackson, Ohio, Connie Post of Florida and numerous extended family members.
In addition to her parents Bonnia was preceded in death by great-grandson, Ethan Laber; two brothers, Buford Pendleton and Beacher Pendleton, and two sisters, Kathryn Markin and Beulah Whiting.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, August 25, 2017 at the Vinton Baptist Church with Reverend Heath Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Hamilton Family Cemetery, 461 Sailor Road, Vinton, Ohio. Family and friends may call at the church Thursday, 6:00–8:00 PM.
