Brenda Rae (Winston) Canady

Brenda Rae Winston Canady, 63, Vinton, Ohio departed this life September 10, 2014 at Arbors of Gallipolis after an extended illness. Born March 1, 1951 in Morgan Township, Gallia County, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Edwin and Carrie (Miller) Winston.

Brenda was a graduate of North Gallia High School, Class of 1969. She married James Canady November 19, 1969 in Gallipolis, Ohio and he preceded her in death in May, 2010. She joined Bethel Missionary Baptist Church at an early age and retired from Gallipolis Developmental Center as a Therapeutic Program Worker following thirty five years of service.

Surviving are a son and a daughter, Robert "Robbie" (Jennifer) Canady and Christina Canady, both of Vinton, Ohio. In addition she is survived by two sisters: Freda Lawson, Gallipolis, Ohio and Carolyn Winston, Downey, California; three brothers: Larry (Sue Ann) Winston and Paul Winston, both of Vinton, Ohio and Stacey (Gigi) Winston, Warner Robins, Georgia; two brothers-in-law, Jimmy (Latonya) Canady, Columbus, Ohio and Darrell Canady, Vinton as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services with be held 3:00 PM Monday, September 15, 2014 at the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton, Ohio with Rev. Calvin Minnis officiating. Burial will follow in the Morgan Bethel Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home prior to the service Monday 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
