Burnie Napier

September 9, 1921 — March 13, 2012

Burnie Napier, 95, Gallipolis, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, March 13, 2012 in Holzer Assisted Living Facility, Gallipolis. Son of the late Adam and Nannie Booten Napier, he was born in East Lynn, West Virginia September 9, 1916. He was a retired U.S. Postal Service Employee and a U.S. Army World War II Veteran.

He is survived by sister-in-laws, Clara Napier, East Lynn, WV and Madeline Napier, Cincinnati, OH; brother-in-law, Denver Adkins, Bidwell; several nieces and nephews, and special friends Jack and Louise Ratliff, Bidwell, OH.

In addition to his parents, Burnie was preceded in death by his wife, Nellie Napier on October 28, 2001; sisters, Frances Napier, Marylou Maynard, and Oma Adkins; brothers, Jacob and Victor Napier.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, March 17, 2012 in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton Chapel, with Pastor Mickey Maynard officiating. Burial will follow in Vinton Memorial Park with Full Military Graveside Rites by the Vinton American Legion Post #161. Friends and family may call at the funeral home Saturday, 11:00 AM to the time of service.
