Carol J. (Smith) Borden

Carol J. Borden, 60, Vinton, Ohio passed away Monday December 8, 2008 at Regency Manor Nursing Home, Columbus, Ohio. She was born December 30, 1947 in Bidwell, daughter of the late Oscar and Katherine Hill Smith. She was a 1965 graduate of North Gallia High School and a retired employee of the Gallipolis Developmental Center.
Carol married Giles Phillip Borden January 18, 1969 in Bidwell and he preceded her September 21, 2001.
She is survived by a daughter, Rachel Borden, Columbus, Ohio; three granddaughters: Zaria, Cassidy, and Kiara Brinkley, Columbus, Ohio; three sisters: Marian (Dayton) Briggs, Catherine Chaney, and Erma Hogan, all of Gallipolis, Ohio and two brothers: William "Clyde" Smith, Columbus, Ohio and Herbert (Gwen) Smith, Canal Winchester, Ohio.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded by her son, James Borden, December 26, 2005 and three brothers and one sister.
Graveside services will be held 12:00 Noon Thursday December 11, 2008 in the Pine Hill Cemetery, Bidwell with Pastor Herb Smith officiating. Friends may call at the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, 420 First Ave, Gallipolis Wednesday 6:00-8:00 PM.
