Charles W. Conger, 80, Vinton, Ohio (Wilkesville Community) passed away in Holzer Medical Center, Gallipolis Thursday, March 25, 2004. He was a retired truck driver and farmer. Charles was born May 30, 1923 in Vinton County, Ohio, son of the late Clinton Harry Conger and Etta Macomber Conger. Charles attended the #10 Baptist Church and the Mt. Olive Holiness Church in Jackson County.
He married Marie George March 31, 1973 in Vinton County and she survives with one half sister: Frances Verna Cottrill, Florida; four sisters-in-law: Pearline Lander, Wilkesville, Ohio; Rose Lambert, Wilkesville, Ohio; Bertha (Billy) Hale, Vinton, Ohio and Edith Smith, Virginia; one brother-in-law: Elwood (Lena) George, Obetz, Ohio and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by four half brothers and two half sisters.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Monday in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton. Burial will be in the Vinton Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday 2:00-4:00 PM.
