Charles E. "Chuck" Hampton, 79, of Patriot, Ohio passed away Monday, January 27, 2025, in St. Mary's Hospital, Huntington, West Virginia, following a lengthy illness. Chuck was born November 17, 1945, in Cleveland, Ohio, son of the late Earl and Noreen (Robertson) Hampton.

A Vietnam Conflict Veteran, Chuck served in the Air Force, attaining the rank of Sergeant, from 1964 to 1968. He was employed as a Maintenance Supervisor at Woodland Centers for over twenty-four years and was a Special Deputy with the Gallia County Sheriff's Department. He was also a member of Centerville F & AM Lodge #371, Gallipolis Shrine Club and the Faith Baptist Chapel, Chesapeake, Ohio.

Chuck will be deeply missed by his wife, Teresa Stringer Hampton and his son, Christopher (Erica) Hampton, all of Patriot, Ohio; stepson, Joshua (Julie Sayre) Preston, Gallipolis, Ohio; grandchildren: Christopher Brady (Julie) Hampton, Columbus Ohio; Kali (Keeli) Hampton, Chattanooga, Tennessee; Seth (Taylor) Carpenter and Ty (Allie) Carpenter, all of Mercerville, Ohio; Peyton Preston, Baton Rouge, Louisiana and John Henry Sayre, Gallipolis, Ohio and; great-grandchildren: Devon Koehler, Sophie Hampton, Knox Carpenter, Wrenleigh Carpenter, Nash Carpenter, Koa Carpenter and Kaden Hampton.

Also missing Chuck are his brother, Kenneth Earl Hampton, Smyrna, Tennessee and sister, Penelope Shope, Gallatin, Tennessee along with several nieces, nephews and other extended family members.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Karla Christine Hampton, sister, Mildred Pauline Cornette and brothers, Douglas Hampton and Phillip Hampton.

Memorial services will be conducted Saturday, February 15, 2025, at 11:00 AM in Faith Baptist Chapel 43 Twp Road 1010 Chesapeake, Ohio with a dinner to follow. Cremation services are under the direction of the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, Gallipolis, who is honored to serve the Hampton Family.
