Charles "Mike" Michael McLain

Charles “Mike” Michael McLain, 71, of Gallipolis, Ohio passed away following a lengthy illness Wednesday, April 22, 2026, in Emogene Dolin Hospice House, Huntington, West Virginia.

Mike was born September 24, 1954, in Zanesville, Ohio, son of the late Charles and Joan (McCaig) McLain. A member of United Mine Workers of America and Ohio Association of Public School Employees, he married Patricia French McLain December 14, 1974, in Gallipolis, Ohio and she preceded him in death July 9, 2025.

He is survived by their children Richard Lee (Kim Cloud) McLain, St. Cloud, Florida and Jennifer (Steven) Swords, Gallipolis, Ohio; grandchildren, Chantelle McLain and Savannah Swords and great-grandson, Grayson Swords; sister, Beverly (Richard) Moore, Racine, Ohio and sister-in-law, Melinda McLain, Pomeroy, Ohio.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded by a brother, James McLain.

A Gathering of Friends will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, May 2, 2026, in Bulaville Christian Church. A Memorial service to follow with Pastor Bob Hood officiating. Cremation services are under the direction of the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, Gallipolis, Ohio, who is honored to serve the McLain Family.
