Charylene (Bales) Skaggs

Charylene Skaggs, 88, Gallipolis, Ohio passed away Thursday, February 27, 2020 in the Holzer Medical Center Emergency Room, Gallipolis, Ohio. She was the daughter of the late Lester Lee and Fay Beatrice (Barton) Bales, born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma November 25, 1931. She was an active person who enjoyed ceramics, sewing, crochet, puzzles, photography and traveling. Charylene was a member of the Addison Free Will Baptist Church and conducted a nursing home ministry with her late husband, Reverend Ernest Gene Skaggs, who preceded her in death September 22, 2016.

To this union were born five children: Linda (Paul) Simmers, Gallipolis, Ohio; Pamela (John) Litchfield, London, Ohio; Jerry Skaggs, Paton, Colorado; Sherry (Gary) Mann, Gilmer, Texas and Rhonda (Ed) Mollohan, Gallipolis, Ohio. In addition, she is survived by sixteen grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Friday, March 6, 2020 in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, Gallipolis, Ohio with Pastor Rick Barcus officiating. Burial will follow in the White Oak Cemetery, Gallipolis, Ohio. Friends and family may call at the funeral home Thursday 6:00-8:00 PM.
