Clarence E. Shupe, 88, Parker, Colorado (formerly of Gallipolis, Ohio) passed away March 22, 2015 at Aurora North Hospital in Aurora, Colorado. He was born July 31, 1926 in Vinton, Ohio, the son of the late Isaac and Sallie Shupe. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, honorably discharged in 1946. On August 3, 1947, he married his sweetheart, Mary Jarvis of Bidwell, Ohio, and they celebrated over 67 years of marriage. He was a member of the Church of the Nazarene, previously at Gallipolis First Church, and presently at Denver First Church in Englewood, Colorado.
In addition to his wife, Mary, Clarence is survived by son Larry Shupe of Parker, Colorado and daughter Linda Shupe Davis of Bourbonnais, Illinois as well as three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren: Brigette Shupe (Andrew) Staley; Thomas and Hannah of Eagle Point, Oregon; Todd (Nicholle) Shupe; Austin, Brandon, Ryan, and Kaitlyn of Parker, Colorado and Jessica Davis (Dave) Kura of Atlanta, Georgia. He is also survived by brothers Isaac Shupe, Jr., Columbus, Ohio; Donnie Shupe, Vinton, Ohio and sister, Kathern Shupe Casto, Columbus, Ohio and their families. Clarence asked God to bless him and make him a blessing. He was certainly a blessing to his loving family, and to many friends, for he never met a stranger.
Clarence was preceded in death by his father, mother, brothers Willard and Lewis, and sister Mozelle Shupe Russell.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Monday, March 30, 2015, at First Church of the Nazarene, 1110 1st Ave. Gallipolis, Ohio with Rev. Ron Justice officiate. Burial with Military Graveside Services will follow in Miller Cemtery near Vinton, Ohio. Friends may call at the church Monday 11:00 AM until the time of service.
