Clovie Edith "Pet" Brown, 85, Vinton passed away surrounded by her family and friends Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at Holzer Medical Center in Gallipolis. She was born August 7, 1924 in Gallia County, daughter of the late Martin Mollohan and Zona Carpenter Mollohan. She was a member of the Salem Church, Wellston, Ohio, and the Church of Christ in Christian Union, Ewington, Ohio.
Pet married Paul L. Brown February 21, 1945 and he survives with one son and two daughters: Melvin (Joellen) Brown, Rae (Forrest) Farley and Marvelea (Tom) Pennington (Wilkesville Community), all of Vinton. Also surviving are four grandchildren: Brian Hicks, Lei Ellen Knox, Tommy Pennington and Krystal Pennington; six great-grandchildren, Brandi and Travis Hicks, Nicki White, Adam, Mariah and Paul Pennington; three great-great-grandchildren, Braydn Hicks, Hannah and Jacob White; and two sisters and two brothers: Reva (Wendell) Brown, Vinton, Ohio; Opal Hardesty, Richmondale, Ohio; Dewey M.(Betty) Mollohan, Kalamazoo, Michigan and Darrell "Buck" (Betty) Mollohan, Bickmore, West Virginia.
She was preceded by one grandson, Keith Hicks and one brother and five sisters, Woodrow Mollohan, Becky Carter, Ethel Rife, Alsie Russell, Macel Adkins and Martha Ward Rife
Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Saturday May 1, 2010 at the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton Chapel with Pastor Ted Russell officiating. Burial will follow in the Vinton Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday 5:00-8:00 PM.
