Clyde Richard "Dick" Brown

C. Richard "Dick" Brown, 61, Vinton, Ohio passed away unexpectedly Thursday, December 9, 2010 at Holzer Medical Center, Gallipolis, Ohio. He was born September 29, 1949 in Gallipolis, son of the late Clyde Ellis Brown and Jean Devault Brown. Dick was serving on the Vinton Village council and was employed with Appraisal Research Corporation. He was a member of the Vinton American Legion Post #161 and was a retired lock and dam operator with the Huntington District Army Corps of Engineers, where he worked for more than 20 years.

He married Phyllis Edmiston Brown April 15, 1972 and she survives with their son, Josh Brown, Vinton; daughter, Wendy (Todd) Petrie, Marion, Ohio; grandchildren, Brock and Avery Petrie, Marion; sister-in-law, Debbie (Dale) Grant, Vinton; brother-in-law, Pat Edmiston, Dayton, Ohio along with several loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Dick is preceded in death by his sister, Nancy Gallion and father and mother-in-law, Philip and Ruby Edmiston.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday December 13, 2010 at the Harvestime Worship Center, Vinton with Reverend Chester Hess officiating. Burial will follow in Vinton Memorial Park with Full Military Graveside Rites being conducted by the Vinton American Legion Post #161. Friends and family may call at the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton Sunday 4:00-7:00 PM.
