Coleen (Murphy) Smith

Coleen Ann Murphy Smith, age 65, passed away Tuesday, September 28, 2022 at St. Mary's Hospital, Huntington, West Virginia. Coleen was born July 8, 1957 to parents, Mary E. Murphy, Gallipolis and Robert L. Murphy, who preceded her in death.

Coleen was a dedicated public servant, formally serving as Meigs County Dog Warden before her retirement. She devoted much of her time fostering and placing pets in their furever homes.

Coleen married the love of her life, David A. Smith, on September 3, 1977 in Akron, Ohio and he survives. In addition to her husband, she is survived by children Shane (Alma), Grantville, Georgia; Lee (Jill), Atlanta, Georgia; Clint (Tiffany), Seattle, Washington; Samantha (Scott), Vinton, Ohio; Ian (Sarah), Jefferson, Georgia; grandchildren, Austin, Payge, Halie, John, Jake, Isabel, Adam, Rylie, Solomon, Matilda, Oliver, Amelia, and Bodhi; brother, Kevin (Laurie) Murphy, Akron, Ohio; sisters, Mary M. Murphy, Reynosa, Mexico; Maureen (Robert) Kormanik, Gallipolis, Ohio; Patrica (Ed) Wallen, Gallipolis, Ohio and brother-in-Law, Bobby Grebelsky, Akron, Ohio.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by son, Victor "Dru" Smith and sister, Bridget C. Murphy.

In keeping with Coleen's wishes, Cremation services are under the direction of McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton Chapel. Memorial Services will be conducted 7 PM Monday, October 3, 2022, at McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be made to the charity of your choice.
