Connie Sue (Maynard) Rees

Connie Sue Maynard Rees, 55, Rio Grande, Ohio left us unexpectedly during the early morning hours on Friday, March 19, 2010 in Holzer Medical Center, Gallipolis with her family by her side. She was born July 25, 1954 at Logan, West Virginia, the fifth daughter of Richard and Lillian Butcher Maynard, who survive and reside at Bidwell, Ohio.

She married Dwane Rees thirty-nine years ago on March 19, 1971, and he survives with two children: Kellie (Matt Maynard) Rees, Rio Grande and Douglas (Jennifer) Rees, Bidwell; three grandsons: Daniel Rees, Chase Nance and Morgan Gibson. Also surviving are sisters: Linda (Larry) Sturgill, Stout, Ohio; Mary (Ralph) Young, Gallipolis; Chris (Russ) Cook, Martinsburg, West Virginia; Nanci (James) LeMaster, Decatur, Illinois; Patricia (Bryan) Jones, Rio Grande; brothers: Danny (Bernie) Maynard, Lebanon, Ohio; Gregory (Marybelle) Maynard, Gallipolis; father-in-law, David Lincoln (Betty) Rees, Gallipolis; brothers-in-law: Dean (Amee) Rees, Bidwell; Dwight (Christi) Rees, Rio Grande and David (Sharon) Rees, Gallipolis; twenty-two nieces and nephews and nine great nieces and nephews; lifelong friends: Brenda, Roger and Bret Keefer, Pt. Pleasant, West Virginia; Linda Lester, Gallipolis and Pat and Betsy Canaday, Rio Grande.

Connie was a Wal-Mart Manager who worked in many Departments. She will truly be missed by her loved ones, neighbors, friends and by everyone who met her. She always had a smile on her face even when she was feeling poorly; always had an encouraging word for whomever she met.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday at the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton, with Pastor Jack Berry officiating. Burial will follow. Friends may call at the funeral home Monday 4:00-8:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Gifts are requested for the Scholarship Fund for her grandchildren, Daniel Rees and Morgan Gibson.
