Deborah Kay Schaeffing-Polcyn, 68, Gallipolis, Ohio passed away Thursday, January 7, 2016 in her residence following a courageous battle with brain cancer. She was born April 27, 1947 in Springfield, Ohio, daughter of Martha Cook Schaeffing, Gallipolis, and the late Robert Schaeffing. She was a 1965 Graduate of North Gallia High School who retired from AEP – River Transportation Division, an active member of her neighborhood watch and she was a member of St. Peters Episcopal Church, Gallipolis.
Deborah is survived by her mother, Martha Schaeffing; children: Kimberly (Mark) Thomas, Gallipolis; Rob (Jode) Polcyn, Proctorville, Ohio and Joshua (Sarah) Polcyn, Vinton, Ohio; grandchildren: Megan, Andrea, Alyssa, Hannah and Ryan Thomas; Marikate, Jake, Gabe and Lilee Polcyn; brother: Bob (Linda) Schaeffing, Wilmington, Ohio; several extended family members and special friends: Cheryl Gerlach, Mason County, West Virginia and Dwayne Evans, Gallipolis.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Tuesday, January 12, 2016 in the St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 541 Second Ave, Gallipolis with Pastor Leslie Fleming, officiating. Cremation services to follow. Friends and family may call at the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, Gallipolis Monday 5:00-8:00 PM.
