Della Schreck Queen Longenbaker, 92, formerly of Gallipolis, passed away Friday, January 30, 2004 in Middletown. For the past three-and-a-half years, she lived at the McKnight-Terrace Assisted Living Community in Middletown, the home of her great niece, Dee Dee Mosko. She was born May 12, 1911 in Gallipolis, a daughter of the late John George Schreck and Lettie Rife Schreck. A graduate of Gallia Academy High School, Mrs. Longenbaker served as supervisor for the former Gallia County Welfare Department, retiring in 1976.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Hollis Queen and Richard Longenbaker; sister, Olive Robinson; four half-brothers, Harold, John, Clarence and Frederick Schreck; and a niece, Joanne Robinson Barlow.
She is survived by a nephew and his wife, Don and Joan (Gatewood) Robinson, Cornville, Arizona; four great nephews, two great nieces and her family at McKnight-Terrace.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, February 4, 2004 in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, 420 First Ave, Gallipolis, with Dr. Robert Ingram officiating. Interment will follow in the Mound Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from Noon-1:00 PM Wednesday.
