Delmar Leon Bloomer, 80, Gallipolis, Ohio passed away at his home Wednesday, September 1, 2021 following a lengthy illness. He was born in Perry Township, Ohio, March 22, 1941, son to the late Haskell and Virginia (Fry) Bloomer. A United States Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam Conflict, he later retired from M&G Polymer, Apple Grove, West Virginia. An avid hunter and fisherman, his favorite pastime was playing softball, which he enjoyed for over thirty years.
Delmar is survived by his loving children: Lisa (Jeff) Ward, Bidwell, Ohio; David Bloomer, Louisville, Kentucky; Jason (Michelle) Bloomer, Henryville, Indiana; Anthony Bloomer, Gallipolis and Ashley Johnson, Melbourne, Florida. Also missing their grandfather are Scot (Britney) Ward, Jenna Ward, Tyler Ward, Aubrielle Bloomer, Faith Bloomer, Christopher Rios, Matthew Nunez, Madelynn Bloomer, Cameron Bloomer, Michael Bloomer, Emjay Bloomer, Ashtynn White, Aliyah Bloomer, Anthony Bloomer, Jr., Aalyvia Bloomer, Andrew Bloomer, Aiden Johnson, Harper, Avery, Nicky and Everly; brothers, Darvin Bloomer and Donald Bloomer and sister, Wanda (Ancil) Cross.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by daughter-in-law, Lisa Potts Bloomer.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 8, 2021 in the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Wetherholt Chapel, Gallipolis, Ohio with Pastor Carl Ward officiate. Burial will follow in Old Pine Cemetery, Rio Grande, Ohio with Full Military Graveside Rites conducted by the Gallia County Veterans Funeral Detail. Friends and family may call at the funeral home Tuesday 5:00-7:00 PM.
