Dingus Martin, 63, Vinton, Ohio, passed away at his residence Saturday, January 3, 2004. He was a construction worker in Dayton, Ohio and had worked at the Steel Mills in Elyria, Ohio and the Wellington Foundry, Wellington, Ohio. He attended the Old Regular Baptist Church.
He was born February 3, 1940 in Floyd County, Kentucky, son of the late Charlie Martin and Arizona Reynolds Martin. He is survived by his wife, Martha Newsome and three sons: J.R. (Marie) Martin, Darryl (Debbie) Martin, and Steve Martin, all of Vinton; eight grandchildren, three brothers and six sisters: William D. Martin, Harold, Kentucky; Charles Martin Jr., Vinton; Donald Martin, Blaine, Kentucky; Polly Akers, Grethel, Kentucky; Dinah Martin, Harold, Kentucky; Shelby Hamilton, Lorain, Ohio; Iva Compton, Garette, Indiana;
Verlie Hall, Grethel, Kentucky and Geneva Ade, Ft. Wayne, Indiana.
He was preceded in death by brother, Herlode Martin and sister, Fronia Hall.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Tuesday in the Little Pearl Church, Mt. Tabor Road, Vinton with the brothers of the Old Regular Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Tabor Cemetery, Vinton. Friends may call at the church Sunday evening until the time of service Tuesday.
