Donald Earl Keeton

Donald Earl Keeton, 76, of Vinton, Ohio went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, January 1, 2025, after suffering a long series of illnesses. He was born September 15, 1948, son of the late Stewart and Alice (Snyder) Keeton.

On January 1, 1970, Donald married the love of his life Loretta McCoy Keeton. Shortly after, he served in the Army during the Vietnam War. He also worked twenty-seven years as a long wall operator for Southeastern Ohio Coal Company, Mine #31, from which he retired. He was an active member of the Bethel Church of Christ in Hamden, Ohio.

In life, Donald was a selfless man who put the needs of others first. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to all who knew him.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Loretta; children: Donald "D.R." (Elizabeth) Keeton and Angela (Jason) Lim; grandchildren: Victoria Angles, Robert Keeton, Natalya Lim, Teslyn Lim and Dalton Keeton; sister, Vivian Griffith and brother, Casey (Cricket) Conley; brothers-in-law: Lauchey (Pauline) McCoy and Lawson (Carolyn) McCoy; sister-in-law, Loraine (Kenneth) Kiser and mother-in-law, Myrtle McCoy as well as several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Keeton.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, January 10, 2025, in the Vinton Baptist Church, SR 160, Vinton, Ohio with Evangelist Patrick Gampp officiate. Full Military Graveside Rites conducted by the Vinton American Legion Post #161 will follow in Vinton Memorial Park Cemetery, Vinton, Ohio.  Family and friends may call at the church Friday 11:00 AM-1:00 PM service time. The McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton Chapel, is honored to serve the Keeton Family.
